As we all know, we’re going through some trying times with the outbreak of the current pandemic.
My first thought on this is, I can’t believe we’ve let this problem get this far out of hand. I was at the grocery store the other day and I felt like I was in a scene in sci-fi movie. People we’re running around trying to grab as many food and nonparishable items as their money could buy. Most stores only allowed you one purchase per family, when it came to meats, water and toilet paper.
I also noticed that there are a number of people who aren’t taking this virus seriously enough. I can’t even count the number of people I still see walking around as if there’s nothing going on. they are not protecting themselves by using the suggested masks or gloves, they’re not implementing social-distancing and I even saw this ederly gentlman cough right in somone’s face…and he wasn’t even wearing a mask(of course you know the person he did it to was very upset). I have to wonder to myself…”Haven’t these people seen or read the news”?
We need to take this health situation serious and everybody has to do their part.
With that being said, as stressful as this situation may be…there is a silver-lining to this cloud.
For me that silver-lining is, this stay home situation has allowed me to begin learning a new skill. The particular skill I’m talking about is coding in Python.
I’ve always been interested in learning how to code, but I just didn’t seem to have the time to start…but now I do have the time because of the stay home orders, due to the pandemic.
Studying Python along with my other online business aspirations have kept me busy. Needless to say I’m not bored like some people might be.
What are my plans from learning this skill? I don’t know at this time. who knows, maybe two or three years from now I can add it to my repertiore which would add to my value.
My Suggestion
For those of us who are quarntined-which most of us are-you’re in the house already and you’re probably bored stiff…why not take all this time (which you didn’t have before) and learn something new. You might even learn something that will eventually let you quit your job, or better yet, enhance whatever online business you’re doing now.
There are a number of courses…some of them free…that you can take. You can find some of them on sites like…
Udemy.com
Alison.com
Edx.org
Along with a number of other free and low-cost online courses out there.
I’m a firm believer that you should never stop learning no matter how successful you are or what you’re doing.
Learning new things keeps your mind active…and even though I’m not a doctor and might even be wrong for thinkinking this way… I feel that expanding your mind by learning new things might even help your brain from the onset of Alzheimers. And like I said I could be wrong but that’s just my thinking.
Even though we’re going through this health crisis right now, sometimes GOD uses what might be a crisis and turns it into a blessing. Great opportunities don’t come to us everyday, take this time to turn a negative into a positive.
My finale note on this short post is, make sure you’re learning something that you can benefit from later on…like your online business.
This might be the once in a lifetime chance that you’ll have the time to educate yourself on a neww skill. Take advantage of it, you’ll be glad you did.
One more thing. Lets fight on to become a healthier nation and world. As stated before, we’re all in this thing together and together we’ll come out of it stronger.
Until next time, remember, if you have to go out, wear your mask, wear your gloves and keep your social distance. It’s imperitive that you protect your family and yourself at all cost.
Have a blessed day and may GOD be with all of us.
